ATHENS, Aug 12 AAP - Milestones at the Olympic Games:

* Security experts declared the Olympics ready to go, while Athens organisers pledged
the Games would be a success.

* The first world record of the Games was set by South Korean Park Sung-hyun, during
the ranking rounds of the individual archery.

* Anti-doping chief Dick Pound confirmed there would be a test for human growth hormone
at the Athens Olympics.

* Much to Greece's relief, home town hero and Olympic 200 metres champion Costas Kenteris
turned up in Athens, ending speculation over his whereabouts.
